In early 2007, I plan to improve the user experience a lot around here. I have my ideas (a very slight realign being one) but wouldn’t it be silly of me to just go ahead without asking you about what you think should be changed?

So, dear reader, is there anything here that irks you? Is there a killer feature that you think would improve things around here? Are you often frustrated by a part of the site? A layout issue perhaps? An access issue? Any niggle you like. Place a comment below and I’ll get thinking about it.

As always, be honest and constructive. Many thanks for your time.

When I come back to look for a previous article I find it hard to find it. Perhaps have a list of recent articles under the list of related stories?

The wide text links add below the article covers other parts of the page (using Opera)

Maybe a little bit of more rationalization on the page, using a 2 columns layout (with a golden-ratio proportion) and moving some content of the current two columns to a structured footer (like yahoo’s or skype’s)

let’s go 100% flash-based!

/sarcasm.

Really, I find that the UI of fadtastic is top notch.

There is nothing that irks me. Sorry. I just come, read the article and leave. Text is big enough, with contrast, there is space around text.

I am interested only in content. Content ig better than good, so I am not bothering with “other features”.

I’ve been reading Fadtastic for quite a while now, and find it an easy read. I do however tend to only read the leading story, rather than browsing the archives. This may be because I find the green link text a little to hard to read (monitor contrast on my work machine is stupidly high, making everything look washed out).

Like the commentor above, I’d add a list of recent posts somewhere near the top to aid in users picking up your other recent articles easily.

Hi Andrew,
I read you on a regular basis, and I find your blog interesting and well balanced. If I was to suggest any improvement I would:

As to form:
- change the pale green font which can be hard to read (especially when our fellow readers are tired after one day of work);
- privilege the most recent posts’ archive so that anyone can find most recent articles to re-read.

As to content:
- insert more light tutorials, most of readers are quite interested in getting suggestions and help from more expert users and/or professionals;
- keep a look and inform about “vlogs” that are gettin so much in fashion recently.

All the best for your 2007!
