December is a busy time of year. But don’t worry, I aim to de-stress you a little with some early Christmas presents.

  1. SimplePie

For very easy RSS/Atom parsing. SimpliePie build themselves up as ‘feed parsing for the rest of us’ and they’re not lying. Nothing new if your a whizz at coding but highly useful if you just want to publish feeds onto your site. Oh, and there’s easy to use WordPress and Textpattern plugins if you’re into that sort of thing.

  2. Snap

There have been a few ‘preview the link’ scripts out there but Snap is a breeze to set up and seems to have better screenshots than other services in its niche. I’m still undecided on the options and information around the hovering image but at the end of the day it can be a useful tool. Just don’t go using it on every link!

  3. PR Leap

For once, an ePR wire that allows easy (and free) submission of your news/press in an uncrowded and search-engine friendly way. A breath of fresh air compared to the often clunky PR services that gain most of the popularity.

Well, I hope you found these resources useful. We’ll be back next month with some more great ways to improve your website, blog or digital life.

PR Leap looks like a great channel to distribute press releases. Thanks for the early gifts, Andrew!
