I am exploring some interesting options for adding images to/pulling images from TrendWatch currently. First up - easy screen capture. This isn’t just something that will help you screengrab designs for trendWatch, but will help you on a daily basis as a designer:

For TrendWatch, simply install the screen capture software and edit the settings to automatically print to file as a jpg.

Any suggestions for Mac screencapture software are most welcome. Feedback below.

On a mac: use Apple + Shift + 4. This turns the cursor into a crosshair. Click and drag to make a selection, and then release the mouse button. A photo sound effect will play and and a new PDF picture will be deposited on the desktop. Use your favorite photo editor to convert to a .jpg file.

Also: Apple + Shift + 3 takes a screenshot of the whole screen.

If you are looking for JUST website-based screen captures the Screen grab! extension for Firefox is great. It will save the entire scrollable page as a single image file.

Good spot Tommy. That doesn’t spurt out jpgs does it? It’s good for general use but not for TrendWatch. Good find though.
