note: every so often, most likely weekly, I’ll be updating here at fadtastic with the best design resources that have been brought to my attention throughout the week. Most of these come to my attention either through people suggesting them via email, or by way of my noticing them at the top of digg or del.icio.us. If I’m missing something important, by all means, let me know in the comments. /note

for the designer/developer:

Photo-Realistic tutorial from SixThings: very nice tutorial to produce a nice photograph effect. I like the creative use of dropshadows especially.\

#1 SEO in 7 days: This guy makes exceptional grounds with becoming #1 on Google, MSN, and Yahoo for his search class in just 7 days, and explains how.

14 Resources for the Artistically Challenged: Christian Montoya provides 14 excellent links you should check out today.

advancedAjax: A new ajax model designed for superior form interaction. Pretty sweet looking, check the demos at the bottom.

zoho Creator: Some very nice ready-made web apps you can customize to fit your needs. This is certainly going to be useful on those projects that really aren’t worth busting out a full rails job for.

for the web-business type:

Getting Real, by 37signals: I can’t say enough good things about this book. It’s changed the way I think about handling web applications, and it’s changed the way I look at the “competitive” environment surrounding them. Well worth it.

Entrepreneurial Proverbs: great set of underlying philosophies to get your web app/business on its feet.

Well, that’s it for now, hopefully you get some use out of these!

Am I missing anything? Comment and let me know!

Hi Phil.

Thanks for the links, some good resources there. The “Photo-Realistic tutorial from SixThings” was particularly timely for me.

Keep up the good work.

Very nice links. SEO always catches my interest for whatever reason so it’s always a treat to find another SEO read.

Thanks!
