A trend that seems to never lose steam is the subtle use of pixel icons throughout a site. These pixel icons can be in the form of, but are not limited to: an envelope for an email icon, arrow bullets, a shopping cart / bag, or a printer.

There is even a gallery devoted to the purpose of displaying pixel image icons found throughout the web.

This trend has proven time and time again that it is here to stay. So go ahead and sprinkle away.

You really like using me as an example of a “fad”. Does that mean you’ll kill me so I can go away? :p

No way Brian.. I give your web site an A+.. People have to understand using fads are not a bad thing. It’s just fun to notice what similarities designers are using in current times.. I myself am guitly of using almost all the fads mentioned. Keep up the good work Brian!

I’d argue that there’s a difference between a fad and a trend. But that’s another post…
